A question; Are there any ex New Yorkers living in Alaska ? Have been twice, first the Kenai, last time Juneau ....PG

I grew up in Rochester and lived in Bethel for two years and now Kodiak for the last five months. Have also visited Anchorage.

My guess is there may be quite a few in the military. I've always said there are two types of people who move to Alaska...those who want to, and those who have to.

Dont forget those who get paid to such as contractors. I didnt want to or get forced to but they offered a lot of money so I did anyways...although I suppose that may qualify as want to. Now that I'm in a nice part I can definitely say I wanted to.

My husband is an ex-New Yorker who couldn't wait to escape NY to which he refers as the "Peoples Republic of NY." It was awesome for me to see NYC last year for the very first time; but that was enough for me.
