John,

WD40 makes a great solvent for some things. Cut a heavy oil with a lighter oil then use detergent and water to remove the light oil. Even works on tar - though not as good as other solvents.

I'm not sure about it being made of fish - I thought it was purely petroleum based.

Sorry for going off topic here ....

Hey, you're probably right. I just don't like its smell. More than fish's. But than I wash and wash my hands after cleaning a bunch of fish anyways.

Hope we get some pictures of a successful whale hunt.

yea, Gordon is the captain of that crew this year. The founder of that crew (Arnold) passed this year so I'm happy his crew got a whale in his memory. Congrats to them!

ABC is the Arnold Brower Crew. I'm pretty sure that Gordon Brower has been co-captain for some time.

It is indeed very nice that the first whale went to ABC.

He's captain now.

How, or if, that crew is divided after this year is yet to be seen. I just spoke with one of his daughters and she said it might be divided. The ABC crew is known for being one of the more successful crews, there are some good men on that crew who know whaling as good as any.

The whale was caught on the late Arnold Browers birthday, I'm very happy for the crew they deserve it.
