The sealion in the lower left corner has =9481 on his side! Weird! Dang nice picture tho!
Hannah and I visited that Russian Church in Kenai. Spoke with the priest about immigrants from Russia back in the day, and even made a donation. Very neat inside.

Gawd, they're adorable. Big plump beasties sunning themselves on rocks, awwwwww! What you're missing are the sound effects, though.
Sea otters, please? Puffins?
Seward is a veritable festival of cool animal life -- I once saw a bunch of Beluga whales there.

Stunning pics! This is very familiar to me because I live in Chukotka(Russia). And here're walruses in Chukotka.
I had been to Seward several years ago during my visit Alaska for Beringia Days international conference in 2006.

Coldfeet, thank you very much for these pics of old orthodox churches!
Here's the orthodox church in Anadyr (Chukotka, Russia).

Incredible looking church! I had a friend who when he left Russia in the late 80's smuggled out a bunch of Orthodox religious relics. Gold crucifixies and all sorts of small items. Sadly he was only interested in how much he could make from them not their history. Thats one of the main reasons i had a friend!
Of almost forgot.... speaking of Kenai oddities. I saw a map of near the Moose Pass area that had two mountains listed Right peak and Wrong peak. I know there has to be a story there somewhere but couldnt find any! Tell if you know please!
