The breakfasts are huge, as are the other meals. You have to try the Cheesecake! Very good stuff!

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I've never really cared for Chili's anywhere.

There was a place in a town of about 500 we just loved. It was an old dinner rail car. Driving by, most people, including us for a while, would just drive by because of the way it looked. We heard great things about the place so we tried it. Man was that great food! Everything, and I mean everything was made there and to order, most of their fruits and other goods where locally grown or made.

It's just one of those places I will always remember. This Mile 45.5 Inn sounds like that kind of place, just need to get my butt there.

Couple of weeks ago my van broke down (again, and this time I decided to fix it myself- a success! Towing charge plus parts and some tools, I saved over two grand in three days) and I coasted it into... Taco Bell parking lot. I had three tacos. They were ok.
Yesterday I had two steak tacos and two chile relenos tacos from local family owned minichain, Tacos El Norte. What a difference! Size, taste!

The Windbreak is hardly "fine dining". I haven't been to Evangelo's yet. Isn't there suppose to be some place up here called the Alpine Grill (I think) I heard it was ok but haven't been yet either.

I found a photo of the place from Google Images, and some history.

West Bay Diner, Grand Marais, Michigan - This rare 26-seat 1949 Paramount "Road King" diner car is the former Matamoras diner from the Pocono Mountains of eastern Pennsylvania. The diner came across the Mackinac Bridge to the shore of Lake Superior in 1997.

Hey Glitch, I just heard the other day that Great Bear Brewing is closed, not sure why though.
