Default 2009 AMGA Alaska State Championship [Anderson, AK]

Greetings Gunners,

The 2009 AMGA Statewide Championship is coming up fast! RSVPs needed by May 6th.

What: 2009 AMGA Statewide Championship. This is the major competition for the year.

When: Saturday May 23rd

Where: Anderson Shooting Park. Anderson, Alaska

Time: Set-up 8-9am (optional)
Group A/B Registration 9-9:45am
Group A/B Mandatory Safety Briefing at 9:45am
Group A/B First Shots at 10am
Group C. First shots at 4pm or whenever Group A/B finishes

Allowable guns:

Group A:
Submachine gun: Pistol caliber full-auto larger than .22
Other semi-auto Pistol caliber: Pistol caliber SBR semi-auto or pistol caliber semi-auto with a suppressor, larger than .22
.22LR submachine gun: 22lr full auto
NFA 22lr caliber rifle: 22lr SBR semi-auto or 22lr semi auto with a suppressor
NFA pistol: Pistol with a can or AOW pistol larger than .22
NFA 22lr pistol: 22lr Pistol with a can or AOW pistol
NFA Shotgun: SBR or AOW

Group B:
Assault rifle: Rifle caliber non-crew served full auto
Other semi-auto Assault rifle: Rifle caliber non-crew served semi-auto with a suppressor or SBR

Group C:
Belt-fed crew served. Belt fed crew served full-auto

One shooter may enter once for each group above. The events for Group A and B will be intermixed throughout the day.

Required safety gear: Eye and ear protection is mandatory since there will be fly-back from the steel targets. No penetrator, tracer, or other non-standard ammunition allowed.

Course of fire: Two or three (to be determined) IPSC style stages and one magazine dump.

Ammunition requirements: To be determined. Expect ~250 scored shots for pistols, subguns, and assault rifles and ~50 scored shots of buckshot and 10 slugs for shotgun. The belt-fed event will be one fire and movement course of fire. Additional information will be sent later on the number of scored shots per event.

Entrance Fee: Current paid AMGA members $15 per event. Non-members $20 per event

Grand Prize: I'm working on medals for top-finishers in subgun, assault rifle, and beltfed. Expect bragging rights as the minimum prize.

These will be IPSC style fire and maneuver events. We'll have shooters of all skill levels participating so invite a friend. Shooters will be limited to one firearm per category due to time limitations and I reserve the right to make up rules as I go along (and you have the right to give me hell about it <g>).

Email me at matt_warnick@hotmail.com with your attendance confirmation by May 6th. We need 12 subgun/assault rifle/pistol shooters (group A/B) and/or three belt-fed shooters (group C) .

15 April 2008, Birchwood Shooting Park, Subgun Competition

If you aren't interested in competing on Saturday, plan to attend the open shoot on Sunday. This is the biggest and best machine gun shoot in Alaska and is a blast to participate in and even more fun to watch.
