I'm cruising to Alaska on May 17th. I was wondering what type of weather to expect in Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan? I can't wait to go.

Rain, followed by drizzle. Clouds with more rain. And yet more clouds with more drizzle.

I went in August & I brought long underwear. But what I wound up using most was a hoodie. We packed a variety of long & short sleeve shirts & jeans for the most part.

You should bring some winter clothes since it will be cold and there will be snow on the ground sometimes. I brought a parka and maybe 1 or 2 sets of thermal underwear. Especially if you are going to go walking around or on the site seeing boats.

Why did you make two threads of the same questions? Just ask on the other thread you have.

May and June are your best bets for good weather, but I'd pack for cold and rain.

Because the first one took a few days to appear, and I thought it had a problem.

Yes, I have found that to be the case (are you listening, CC?)

We had one May a few years ago in Southeast that was absolutely stunning, very little rain, blue skies, and warm temps for almost a month straight. My son said it felt eerie.

For the most part the others are right though; expect drizzle in Ketchikan and lots of wind in Skagway. My favorite part of the inside passage is that place just above Sitka where things suddenly start looking bigger.
