The snow has been gone in fairbanks for awhile. I was in Trapper Creek for awhile and saw snow in the woods driving by Denali, it was still pretty brown too.

We got some snow last evening up on Baldy outside of Wasilla. I was walking the doggies and it started to pour down rain with sleet. Got back to the house, looked out the window at the mountain and it was covered white. Looks like the mountain got a couple of inches since it is a good solid white with no brown showing.

We still have some small pockets here and there but for the most part it is toast!

Got a pretty good dusting of new snow again last night up in the Chugach. Even a tiny trace on Flattop. And as a few others have mentioned, quite a bit of new snow everywhere up on the slope the last few days north of the pass. In fact it was snowing so hard on Wed up around Happy Valley there were even deep drifts forming across the road. By Thurs though the Dalton was just one long slushy, muddy, mess!

Now
Through 1146 am...areas of patchy fog are developing across the central Kuskokwim Delta. Visibility at Bethel has dropped to 1/2 mile. Otherwise...low clouds and unseasonably cold temperatures early this morning in the middle 20s slowly rising into the middle 30s by late morning.

Yeah, that means winter is only about six weeks away with the new termination dust!

Snow?

Yeah, snowing all day - looks like about 3 inches so far. Just got done doing some roofing, more to do tomorrow. Then want to shovel it out of places while it's still nice and fluffy. There's this certain storage area w/a flat plywood roof w/o roofing - took nearly 2 feet off when it was slushy, don't want to repeat that and don't want to have those boxes soaked again either.

It would be real nice if it stayed in the 20's then it wouldn't melt and find it's way inside. But it looks like higher temps this coming week - darn.

Oops - pardon my near blasphemous transgression there.

BUT it's all white and purty right now!!
