OK - so I'm on the phone with a guy from Alaska. He excuses himself cuz he says, "I have a moose boiling on the cooker and I need to take it out at 27 minutes and power wash it." HUH? I have this vision of a giant steaming witches vat on the back driveway with a whole moose, rack and all, boiling in it; and a giant powerwasher in waiting nearby. Close?

I can understand boiling it, sort of, but what's with the power wash?

I usually slow cook them in the hot tub and then load em into the pick-up for a trip through the laser-wash before popping it back into the hot tub to finish off....takes awhile.

I have baked, braised, roasted, broiled, stewed, stuffed it into sausage casings, and barbecued moose, but I have never boiled it. Moose fat, what little there is, can be somewhat bitter when rendered, so I remove as much as possible before cooking. When fat is required, as in sausages, I add pork or beef fat. Maybe they were trying to remove the moose fat by boiling and giving the moose a "power wash."

Imagine a horse on stilts with a rack maybe 5-6' wide. I'd like to see him move it whole in the first place! Dunno how he'd do it unless he managed to get one from a boat and used the winch to haul it up. Seen plenty of deer like that, but moose???
