Hiya Megan,

Yeah you just have to follow the main regulation that either the shipper or the recipient has to be a licensed dealer or collector. If your local dealer ships them to you in AK they will be held for approx 5 days from the day they arrive. Hold locations have to be main Fedex stations.
If your travel time will not allow you to drop off at dealer, drive up and pick up within 5 days you could possibly call FDX and request a longer hold time (but that is not a 100% guarantee).
What would recommend is that if you have a good relationship with your local dealer have them ship out a few days after you are on the road or already in AK.
This will save you the stress of having Fedex on the AK end see this as not picked up in time and return to shipper. Normally we do hold a bit longer if customer requests but we do have a few
p.i.t.a. employees who follow the letter of the rule and will ship back on 5th day.
And likewise when returning the guns home you ship them back to a dealer thus fulfilling the requirement of the license.

Hey Megan - flip all that around since you're shipping from AK to outside, and I'll use it to ship from Seattle to AK. I think we confused JerseyKat

LOL I've had a long rough day and confusion is a daily occurance.
And also was over venting on another thread.
Also Alaska is like OZ people come and go so quickly that I'm confused
who is where and when.

Default Whitehorse

Hope you're enjoying your road trip, we just got back from a weekend trip to Whitehorse and the weather was great, even got a sunburn at the hotsprings!

Watch out for the animals on the road, especially the bison!

No kidding! We saw deer, bison, a lynx, some goats, coyotes, moose, etc. Great trip, and I am SO glad that I am staying with family tonight. Cruised super fast to Minneapolis after Edmonton. No problems at either border, well, the US was kinda grouchy, but no trouble anyway.
