Alaska has the lowest tax rates in the nation. Do the jobs and home prices also come out on top?

Jobs do not. Home prices...maybe Marty knows. I don't. Cost of living...probably the highest in the nation.

Perhaps some places in Texas, and Nevada. But if you want perhaps the coldest and most remote place to move, then Alaska has a few choices.

Home prices in Alaska are about in the middle between the low low prices in the mid west and the high prices on both coasts.

But Alaska is not the best place to relocate to if you are looking at it from a purely financial standpoint. People live here because they want to and they do whatever it takes to stay here.

The best place to relocate to from a financial standpoint is North Dakota...seriously. Check out their home prices, taxes, and unemployment rate. But you better be into corn, cows, and wind...and cold on top of that.

My son is attending college in Iowa and he commented about how many places there have the word "Mount" in their name......Mount Pleasant, Mount Mercy, Mount Marty, etc. He then went on to say he didn't understand why because, "There isn't a mountain within a thousand miles of this place!" Nothing but flat corn fields...and wind turbines, as far as you can see.

In that case mount might be a verb and not a noun.
