My husband and I have never visited Alaska, but are hoping to make a trip soon. Where would you recommend would be the best places to stay and/or visit with young children? Thanks!

Well...if your looking for kid stuff...there is the sealife center in Seward. Kids love that. And the zoo in Anchorage. Kids love that. And there is the beach in Homer out on the spit. All these are great for adults too. You can get from Anchorage to Homer in 4 hours or so driving. Seward from Anchorage is probably 2 1/2 hours drive. Some awesome mountain and river scenery along both drives.

If you're looking for a place where the kids can play safely outside 'til bedtime, watch the bears catch salmon from a safe observatory, pet an iceburg, catch a king salmon, halibut, pull a crab pot, camp at a beautiful remote creek and fish for trout. Come to Wrangell. Bring them for the 4th! They'll remember forever.
