Uh...I close my eyes at night and all I see are salmon. Then when I open them it's the same.

As far as grilling...salmon steaks are great right on the grill, or wrap a fillet in foil along with some onion, butter and a dash of beer and place on the grill. Salmon cooks pretty quick.

I'm coming to your place for dinner.

Yes. The fruits, fruitions of Alaska does come at a price. My daughter has this children's book that reminds me of your comment. It's called "The Salmon Princess: An Alaska Cinderella Story by Mindy Dwyer."

Not that you are a princess or anything, but "Cinder" in the story is bogged down with cleaning and smoking salmon she nearly goes crazy, and certainly starts to see all kinds of things that have to do with salmon.

I hope the season is prosperous for you since it will make the rest-and-relaxation far more rewarding.

I worked fishing boats, beach sites, canneries and tenders for years. There were many times when I lay down to sleep all I saw was fish. You close your eyes...and you see fish. It's weird.

Another thing I learned this year from my friends that are chefs in Alaska
heat up some chopped garlic in butter - just till the garlic sweats--- a little chives is good too!

Take the mixture put in the fridge till hard.. Take out spoon full and place on the salmon just before it is finished cooking and a little when serving.... mhmmmm

another one they did was this mixture and added the sweet red pepper sauce to it and put it on halibut cheeks yummy

The resturaunts actually lay it on tin foil and roll it up like a dessert roll and slice off a piece at a time- it will keep in fridge months this way.

I second the foil over a fire pit or BBQ way also with a some (good) wine butter citrus and onions....

Haha to the dreaming fish - my friend up there has been smoking 11 silvers and 2 kings from last week after work- said he was dreaming of fish last night - just finished it and back out again today!

Aluminium pots and pans give me shivers... so does alu foil. I'll tolerate it and sometimes use it too, never with any citrus or vinegar. Acids dissolve aluminium and than who knows what happens to your body...
Same with cling foil. Never use any made with pvc that readily dissolves its cancer causing chemicals in animal fat and than stays in your body accumulating over the years.
Or the black garbage bags I saw in pictures posted here, used for whale blubber cubes. Bad move...

Maybe just hormones.
My daughter comes down with these migranes that sometimes kill her for three days in a row, to the point of puking and visiting emergency room for some horse pain killer meds.
Lately though, they are very regular: the day before her period.
