do you have to have a passport to ride the ferry from bellingham to juneau now?

No, you are in the US through the whole trip. The ferry is considered US soil. If you later decide to go to Haines or Skagway and drive up through Canada, you'll need one.

My final destination is Fairbanks (leaving in February) where do I want to get off the ferry

You'll want to get off at Haines and drive from there. You'll be going through Canada so you'll need a passport. You'll likely hit snow too, so be prepared for it.

True. I'm not certain if Canada requires a passport, but to get back in the US, you need one. Actually, I think you can cross without one, but it might require a body cavity search and vehicle stripped to the frame.

figured Id post a reply since I made it to juneau, been here a month. love the place just wish there were more couples our age, 23-30. anywho i slept on the solarium easy as pie. def bring a camera and talk to as many people as possible. I dont think i'll do it again if i have a choice but every one should ride once.
