If you search this forum, you will find lots of answers to your questions. A lot of people ask the same questions you have every now and then. The housing units at Fort Wainwright are new, and you should be able to live on post if you like.

I believe there is military housing off post, too. The renting situation off post is a little difficult at this time of the year, but possible. Most people have already rented apartments or houses, and all depended on what you want. For example, are you looking for a house to move into, or an apartment?

I landlord I know has a few apartments and a couple of houses (already rented). The cost for one of his 2-bedroom apartments is around $1,400 per month.

This has nothing to do with a move to Fairbanks.

Try the Daily News Miner, Fairbank's newspaper.

newsminer.com • Fairbanks, Alaska

A buddy of mine just moved there from Bethel, AK and used this paper to find his home.

Hope this helps.
