Default Hey Seward

So is it as bad as the papers make it out to be? It sounds like you guys are going to float away. I haven't seen any pictures so it's hard to tell how much water there is.

Yup: it was pretty bad. Flood waters went down to normal after a few days though. I lost about 100' of my driveway...washed away and went "downstream". The Seward airport was under water. Lots of homes had water in their basements, front yards, etc. A friend of mine had part of his driveway washed away.

Rumor has it that Seward residents are starting to build their homes on dock floats, instead of concrete footings...

Bud
Seward, Ak

I haven't really heard much from over that way either. Skilak Lake is down 6 or 8 inches now. And the Kenai River has dropped in Sterling just as much.
