Cool single life in alaska????

im going to work in the ketchikan area during the summer, and i am looking to move there permanetly, I spent some time in King Salmon before and i loved it there, however i did not like the potential of getting old alone, there were no girls there. I was hoping if anybody could tell me if theres any singles hang outs in ketchikan or maybe even a meat market. Also what are my chances of finding a year round job there, i dont have much college but i do have a military background. I hope nobody thinks that im a pervert but i do have needs!

Well calling it a meat market does not sound real mature or polite. If you have any decent military background I would think you would have better manners. With that attitude your not gonna have much luck anywhere. Having a decent lady friend is a luxury and not something to be taken for granted in this part of the country. Come on man, there are ladies here. Show a little respect!

Uh oh.

The ratio in Ketchikan is more equitably distributed than the more rural parts of the state, so you'll have no problem actually meeting women. The problem may occur when you try to get a date. You'll find out soon enough where people go to socialize, though the women you meet will most likely be seasonal workers like yourself, as locals tend to hide out. Sometimes it's easy to understand why.

There's a pretty fair chance of finding year round work in Ketchikan and even a better chance of finding yourself on the next boat south if you treat the local girls like they're here to satisfy your needs. Good luck now.

By the sounds of things, you are going to look long and hard. We may be tuff, but we have needs too, and a gentleman is one of them...

I guess you can take your own blowup doll for the long cold winters if you end up staying year round.

This aussie has NO respect for any man that thinks a woman is a slab of meat , just for there pleasure.

Wake up to your self , be a man , i was under the impression that the military turned a boy into a man , where did they go wrong here.

A fresh wind blows here. The cool refreshing breeze of civility and respect for others. Is it really like this in Alaska or is that just my misconception?

Then just be the kind of guy that's going to attract that. As I said, Ketchikan's not so remote that there's any noticeable shortage of women.

I think sometimes what happens in Alaska is that men can get overly aggressive, and we get tired of that.
