Default Hunting seasons???

Hi guys! Well down in the lesser 48 Dove Season begins tomorrow at noon, tricky little devils them zenaida macroura (mourning dove) can fly at 70 mph and not necessarily in a straight line, limit is 12 but are allowed 24 in possession. Deer, odocoileous virginianus, white tail variety, bow season in my part of the state starts 12 Sept, Muzzleloader Nov 7-13, Gun Nov 14-Jan 1. I will only do rifle,- each hunter is allowed 2 deer either sex for every one of the 42 deer hunting days- that bow stuff is for young'ens. My part of the state doesn't have a bear season, that's for folks in the mountains (hills actually, compared to what yall have), our coastal region is warm enough that they do not have to hibernate, ergo, they do not lose that 1/3 of their body weight each year, they just keep getting bigger. The only bear we have is the Black Bear, Ursus Americanus, if my memory serves correctly I believe the state record is over 950 lbs. Branta Canadensis is considered a pest (canadian geese) the daily limit is 25. We do have feral hogs both at the coast and in the mountains and some in various state parks they are considered a pest and hunting is encouraged. All Ducks and other specie of geese are under federal guidelines and the seasons and limits are set in D.C. ergo, they don't make a lot of sense. When do your seasons start? I believe you have differing guidelines.

Well, for a one word answer---YES--- they work well as appetizers, or ground up in a Pate, a bit small for a meal, but wrapped and baked in bacon w/cheese and a bit of butter and garlic, they are a good snack thingy.

Eww is right LOL. Don't wanna eat my sweet little squirrel either that thinks he owns our deck. . How sweet with Lizzy and the baby dove. Doves are just so pretty I was wondering why anyone would hunt them.

Default Prettier they are...they better they taste.

Actually, I've never tried to eat dove...or squirrel. But I think deer are pretty and they taste great!

Now moose are ugly...but they taste even better than deer.

They are so strange looking they are cute... Overall few people in other places get to witness moose wandering through yards, or cities.
