Question Looking for construction work!

Hello,

My wife and I are looking to spend June through October in Alaska. Can anyone give me any suggestions about where the best areas are for construction jobs. We are willing to go to Anchorage/Homer/Seward south to Ketchikan. I would appreciate any information anyone can give me!

Thanks-Jeff Hays

Default union

Start by checking in with the union halls. Theres a LOT of union influence up there, from tilesetting to electrical to plumbing...you name it. Its generally not cheap to get work done in AK, but on the other hand it usually gets done right the first time when you pay the going rate.

ok, you want my opinion?
i got a job my 2nd day here at a constructions site, as an hourly paid day laborer. Now, I do have an oilfield background , so that was a plus. BUT.....there are a few real requirements...

- show up on time
- show up clean an sober
- don't lie about your abilities
- be willing to do the task assigned
- show up on time clean an sober

Any male or female with a real skill will go to work. But it's not all fun and games at times, and not easy. The weather isn't very freindly at times. And that makes it challenging.
But remember, there are no promises made, or implied, at any time.
