I'm glad I'm inland...

The coastal Flood Watch is now in effect from Saturday afternoon
through Saturday evening from Goodnews Bay to Toksook Bay.

A strong area of low pressure will move into the eastern Bering
overnight Friday into Saturday. Strong south winds with this
system may produce a 2 to 4 ft surge above maximum astronomical
tide on Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening between
Goodnews Bay and Toksook Bay. Minor flooding is possible during
this event.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for
flooding are expected to develop. Coastal residents should be
alert for later statements or warnings... and take action to
protect property.

Had a fun bike ride home...soaked!

For the Kuskokwim Delta this afternoon there continues to be an increase in rain and winds with easterly wind gusts around 40 miles an hour at Bethel and over 30 miles an hour at Mekoryuk and toksook Bay. Along with the winds there is increasing rain amounts moving in and fog developing with the rain. Temperatures in the upper 40s to the low 50s will be the rule through the evening hours. No let up is forecast through the evening hours with some coastal high waters expected in front of the strong winds. Coastal winds will further increase through tonight with some locals gusts as high as 50 miles hour likely.

Yeah I saw that warning on my weather station Wart. I have selected areas listing watches and warnings through AK.

Maybe it's where we're located as to why we don't get much wind, but I do miss it. I miss the heavy winds of October and November, and some of the heavy winds the rest of winter.

Give it time....we'll get them. I think it was about 4-5 yrs ago or so that winds in the Wasilla/Palmer area reached 80-90 mph. Roofs and signs went flying; a tractor trailer overturned on the Parks.

You need a big clear visor on your bike or maybe a big zip around tarp type cubby like they attach to snow blowers.......

OhMyGosh Jersey - that's a howl! That says something when I have silly thoughts at 3am at work, and here someone already invented it!

Definitely looks like the bike has a much greater chance of becoming airborne!

But Warpt, think of the aerial shots you could get ......
