WOW !!! what a punch !! Did anyone in Anchorage just feel that ??

One very strong solid 'punch' just shook this whole 5 story building !!

I am far from Alaska, but here is a link showing a quake that occurred today near you, although right now it is rated as a 2.0

Wow, you are faster than me. I just posted a thread on the same quake. It only felt like a 4.0 or 4.5 to me near Settler's Bay. But if it is being felt on the Kenai, then it had to be much bigger.

not sure if that is same quake - that shows it was at 1015am when it was actually at about 1105 or so

At 11:06 AM Alaskan Daylight Time on June 16, an earthquake with preliminary magnitude 5.2 occurred 50 miles/80 Km southwest of Anchorage, Alaska .

That was a different quake that occurred at 10:15:45 AM. This one was at 11:07 AM AST.

yup it's "breaking" news for us that felt it


Our entire building felt it along w/hearing it - though hubby was outside and didn't feel it. Inside felt like it was slightly shaking for about 30 secs after the big hit
