I was wondering what temp you keep your home and where do you live in Alaska?

Might be a dumb question but when it gets really cold in Fairbanks during winter it's hard to believe you can keep your home at a comfortable setting even though the houses are built for it.

Ours is generally at 68 degrees. I just toured a home that we closed today. It has triple pane windows and is really sealed well. It has an on-demand water heater with a circulation pump. That house is designed to be at 72 degrees all the time.

62-64 high and 55-58 low temps for the furnace. However, we use a wood stove and pellet stove to supplement, so we occasionally reach 70 when they're burning.

Most around 50 at night and early morning, then up to low 60's for during the day, but only if we are home. If not home, we keep it around 50.
Our bedroom is kept cool, all heat vents shut with a window open, even in winter.

About 65 degrees in my home.
Odd you may mention the sourdough cabins- if you go into a traditional Yup'ik home around my parts, it'll be 80+ in the winter.
They really like it hot in there.

I like sleeping cold (about 60) but keep it at about 68 during the day.
