Default How is the wind out in the Valley right now?

Just curious. From what I can see from here, looks like allot of dust blowing around out there.

Knik River valley is really blowing up good.
We've had gusts to 40 mph, not really a big deal, sure it's much more around Butte.

It is blowing like crazy here in Wasilla; has been all day and I mean it's "windy."

We even have winds here in mid-town Anchorage today. Very windy! It looks really windy up on the hillside of course. Batten down the hatches!

Took a quick drive over to palmer today just to see how the winds were. Yep, they were a blowin'.
The sand and silt were making it so you could hardly see the mountains around there, and they are damn close. Still, the max winds are only around 40 MPH, really no biggie.

Actually, it's a North wind, so the hillside has been mostly dead calm. It's funny how the two are almost always exact opposites. It's also been about 10 degrees colder up here than down in the bowl all day as well. When the Chinooks blow form the east, the conditions reverse.

Drove into Anchorage in it today wind is gusty and all that airborne silt cant be good for the car when we got out it felt like we were being sandblasted, got back in the car and could feel the grit in my eyes. Hope it dies down its just not fun.

Interesting Moose Whisperer. I stand corrected. But it sure LOOKED windy up on the hillside the way the snow was. It was 40-50 mph down here & the trees were bendin' & creakin'! It was clearly blowing from the north. We had the windchill factor yesterday down here to make up for the temperature differential!!

Today there is such a haze we can't even see the hillside!
