Default nose hairs

Its easy to tell when the temps start getting into the negatives, when you take a breath the hairs in your nose freeze into brittle little spikes and poke you from the inside.

Anything above the low 70s is too hot, thats why we're trying to move back to AK

That's actually true.

I recall whenever its in the 30-50 range and humid it usually chills me to the bone, but when a high-pressure cold front comes through from the north and brings teens and 20s, I feel it warmer because it doesn't get under the skin.

Default Desert Rat

Below 75 getting cold...break out the winter gear

75-85 nice...but keeping clothes on

85-95 very nice...not ready to remove clothes yet

95-105 just starting to feel the heat...thinking about removing clothes

105-115 gets a little uncomfortable...start removing clothes

Above 115 stay in the shade...or else you'll be butt naked

When I leave the desert for Alaska I will have a whole lot of adjusting to do. LOL!!!

Skiing at 20f below is cold. Skiing at 60f below is a challenge and an entirely different endeavor - trust me on this.

At 20f below, it's merely cold. You'll want to be dressed well and you'll want to go in more frequently even if you don't have to. Checking exposed skin for frostbite is essential, and it's smart not to ski alone because it's easier to see somebody elses nose turn yogurt-covered-raisin-white than it it to watch your own.

Skiing at 60f below it's not merely possible you'll get frosbite on exposed skin - it's a certainty. Which means you'll have condensation and problems with your goggles because your nose will be covered. I know there are people who ski without goggles, I just don't understand it. I'd find it simply not to be possible.

I'm also gonna add...anything at 70 or above is swimming weather. Especially if it's raining. The water always feels warmer when it's raining!
