There are a lot of places in the lower-48 that aren't as expensive as living here, and with crime rates not as high. The only problem is that employment is difficult to find, but I imagine that in a year or two, unless the economy picks up, that too will be the case in Alaska.

Anyways, a place that I may move to someday is Northern Washington on a town bordering Idaho. This way I can just drive to the supermarket nearby in Idaho to buy groceries, and avoid paying the high WA taxes. I have some relatives living in Northern WA, know a few people there, and let me tell you that I haven't seen any other place where people enjoy such long lives. I am talking about real old folks still walking around and getting in trouble Maybe it's the water or something?
