More importantly, she has no desire to overcome her ignorance, to learn and do hard study of issues and events. She is the classic mutt and she is proud to be so.

Fast forward to 1:40. Either this news anchor or Metlakatla isn't telling the truth about Palin's willingness to autograph her books.

Discounts on Palin's Book

I saw it for sale in Kroger last night. Discounted already. Guess she's trying to be a "best seller" at any price. I also heard on TV that Walmart was selling it for $8.98.

So in other words, what you are saying is that she is not smart enough, etc. etc. etc. for leadership other then "in" Alaska. Strange comment.

BTW, if I don't like a politician, celebrity, whatever, I simply tune them out..if they're on t.v. I switch the channel. Your welcome....you betcha.
Why is it strange? What's strange is that you don't see a difference between Alaska and The United States of America in terms of complexity?? I also "tune out" those I have ni interest in. But lady is attempting to be a bnational leader of the country I live in. I don't tune that stuff out.

Ummmm...hate to have to break it to you but this news clip appears to be from Columbus and not the Indiana town in question. The news achor did say that at other stops, Palin had not signed everyone's books, which is what we were talking about. Don't really get how that translates into the news anchor or myself "lying"; your link merely backed up what I posted earlier. Don't get too dizzy from all that spinning, though.

It did say that a Canadian woman had disrupted her visit....oneyear, was that you?

Once again for those who've missed it, this portrays the book signing where people became angry due to her leaving before keeping her promise to sign a certain amount of books:

Newsmax.com offering Palin's book "for just $4.97, a savings of $24 off the cover price" | Media Matters for America

You can get it on Newsmax for less. But I'd wait till the Conservative Book Club has it for a dollar along with Beck and Coulter's rantings.

I think she's reflective of the "class warfare" that is starting to be prevalent in the United States. She speaks to the disenfranchised whites and the low information voters; the "anti-elitists", if you will. She gives their anger and frustration a name and a face, and doesn't expect them to delve too deeply into the intellectual complexities involved in world politics.
Yes indeed. I have been totally puzzled how an intellectually shallow person like SP could get anyone to notice her. Remember she has never shown her face on a venue where she would discuss policy in depth and not with a smile and wink while throwing out a sound bite. But I think you figured it out.

People who support Palin like her because she demonstrates simple platitudes. They are pleased with that because it reaches to their comfort level when it comes to intellectual prowess and capability. If one never experienced being around people with the mental precision, analytical capability, and knowledge base of a well-educated highly intelligent person then Sarah seems to do just fine. So it isn't that her supporters think she is well-endowed mentally but rather that they don't realize it is necessary!

Is that elitist? You bet it is. Elite is what I am looking for. Johnny or Jane Simpleton should stay out of national public office. This woman represents what is wrong with America. Believe me--our competition isn't grooming their Sarah Palins to head up their leadership for the coming decades.

And Sarah's movie star looks give the extra impetus for all the media hype--if she were a plain Jane, hippy, and gray--she would be nowhere.

So--now I understand.
