... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from midnight tonight
to 3 PM akst Saturday...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from midnight tonight to
3 PM akst Saturday.

Snow and blowing snow will develop tonight as an area of low
pressure tracks into the eastern Bering. The snow will mix with or
change to freezing rain late tonight into Saturday morning... with
ice accumulation of one quarter inch expected. Snow accumulation
of 2 to 5 inches is also expected. This wintry mix of
precipitation will continue into Saturday afternoon... then taper
to scattered showers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

what the heck is going on?? my computer weather is showing Homer is warmer by 2 degree than the east coast??? an Eagle River is 6 degrees warmer...huh??

Probably not unusual. Heck, last night's low at my friend's house in Durango was 50 degrees colder than it was here.

And it was only -5 in Glennallen when we were up there two days ago! People up there were complaining about the humid "Valdez weather."

52 in Delta yesterday, and even warmer towards the mountains (very strong Chinook wind). It was -43 on this day last year. Wheeeee!...

When I left Deadhorse on Thursday eve it was -40F. I arrived in Anchorage to find +40. That's a +80F change in temp in just a couple hours. I darn near had my A/C on driving home from the airport!

I've been wondering what is going on myself! Seattle has been colder than Wasilla the last few days, and it is still colder right now according to weather.com! Craziness! I've really been enjoying the cool weather here!
