Winds tore at roofs in Point Hope, where villagers assembled at Tikigaq School and greeted the blizzard warning Wednesday night with traditional drumming and dancing.

The power plant loosing power is a weekly event.. There was no damage to any power lines that I was made aware of.. All power was restored today.

Lots of people stayed home away from the gym. The winds in Point Hope always tear at the roof. NO DAMAGE was reported today.

I wouldn't call a roof tearing off damage, too. Just a normal occurrence. "There goes my roof, oh well. No big deal."

Just got off the phone again. Yes 3 power lines went down, linemen flew in from Barrow @ 8 am and fixed it and power was restored. Yes roof damaged - small shacks that weren't being used for anything were broken up.. The wind @ 70 mph was announced by the principal in the school using their instruments. I got no problem ever Mr. Wartman of ever admitting when I am wrong and I clearly did not receive the whole picture on the phone. I am relying on what people tell me; I am WRONG!! (and that didn't hurt one bit to admit it) so smile !! Is that explanation sufficient Mr. Warptman ??

Meanwhile here our power company takes a week to restore everyone from 30mph winds and a snowstorm. LOL Granted trees did topple over powerlines, but there's a whole debate now whether the power company didnt handle it right. In fact they waited 5 days after the fact to send in more help from other states. Over 850,000 had no power at the peak.
