Nice temperature inversions around here today. At home we had a high of about 28 °F, but when I was over in Butte, Jim Lake area, the high of the day was only about 2 °F.

Quite windy here around Wasilla and Palmer to with gusts reaching 50 MPH.

It was dead calm by Butte and Jim Lake.

It is quite blustry! I've heard rumors of damage as I've been out and about, different signs blown off businesses.....and possibly some parking lot lights blown over?
We're tucked in here.......I just picked up extra lamp oil in case the lights go out. I won't discuss what I paid for it though! I knew it was worth it if I needed it. We've already got the gas stove that doesn't need any electricity. Now if I just had some of those old Jiffy Pop popcorn things......

yes, it's pretty bad out in palmer. everytime there's a big gust, out window's make crackling noises like they're going to shatter. it's pretty scary. the thing that makes me way angry is the news! they're not telling us anything! the only thing i heard when i watch it is "blah blah blah, it's not bad in anchorage, high winds in the valley, blah blah blah, high winds should end tonight at midnight" it's 2:16, & they've just gotten worse. it's really, really, really bad.

Well, we weathered the night (ha,ha,ha) but lost power multiple times. Had to relight the water heater, again, and I've got to head out to run errands........so it was a cold water sink hair wash for me.
I'm AWAKE now
