Nice!
Are the leaves out on the trees over in Wisconsin? There coming out quickly on a lot of trees here in southern Minnesota anyway. It looks like all the thunderstorms we've been having are moving your way.

I hate winter...

The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a blizzard
watch... which is in effect from Thursday afternoon through
Thursday evening along the coast.

A strong low in the Bering Sea will approach southwest Alaska
Thursday afternoon. Southeast winds will increase and snow will
develop along the coast in the afternoon... possibly reducing
visibility to one quarter mile or less at times. Conditions will
improve by late Thursday evening as the front weakens and moves
off to the east.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A blizzard watch means there is a potential for falling and/or
blowing snow with strong winds and extremely poor visibilities.
This can lead to white-out conditions and make travel very
dangerous.

So much for a backcountry trip in the Deltas tomorrow. They're forecasting 60mph winds through the AK Range passes through the afternoon. It went nuts all of a sudden here in Delta a couple hours ago, so I think I'll be better off in Fairbanks to enjoy the 60 degree Chinook conditions without the wind.

Yep, more high winds and blowing snow up here. Why is it when these winds pick up during the middle of winter, the temps often shoot up into the low 40's, melting the snow and turning everything into a slushy mess. Yet now here we are in late April when I want the snow to melt, and the winds (at my place at least) are down around 30F keeping all of the snow in place!

I'm done with winter too!
