This artic air keeps pounding Oklahoma. We are typically in the 40-50's this time of year, with an occasional 30 degree day. We are sitting at 27 at the moment with a windchill of 7. Supposed to dip into single digits with minus 0 windchills. I think it's Alaska calling me up there

I got an e-mail from a friend in Houston and she was saying how cold it is there and going into the teens tonight. Her son lives in Oklahoma and I quess he called her and told her how cold it was there also. Is that normal winter weather for Oklahoma?

not usually. NW Oklahoma is usually pretty cold and gets a couple snows a year, but here in SE Oklahoma it doesn't ever snow and we usually think a cold day is in the upper 30's. Average temps are lows in the 40's and highs in the 50-60's. This winter it's already snowed three times here and has been in single digits 5 times not counting tonight. It's the coldest winter I can remember for sure. I am kinda glad though cause it's probably just a small taste of what it will be up there.
