I don't drink beer or any alcohol. A diet Pepsi works though.
I will buy you all the diet pepsi you want for all the help you have been to us. I will make sure that I post a lot of pics from during our trip. I am glad that you think that our itenerary looks good. Like I said we only want to drive a few hours a day so that we are driving in the light and relaxing in the dark! So from what has been said the worst inclines will be that between Fort Nelson and Watson Lake? I am really getting excited for this trip and I just bought my new Nikon D3000 last night so it should be here in 2 days!!! Again Warpt over the internetwords can't express how much I appreciate your great words of advice. Thank you!

I used to take my time driving down or up, never works. After the first day or two I get impatient and just drive long hours. That's how all my trips are now, drive early in the morning until 10pm or so.

You may want to push it depending on the weather. If a storm is moving in, you may want to get a little further to avoid the worst of it. Otherwise you could end up stuck a couple of extra days in a place until it clears. Pay attention to the weather reports and determine if you can out run any storm coming in. If not, say put.

Well we are being paid for the whole 13 days so we are going to take our time especially with the dogs. I am excited to see the beautiful scenary! I am sick of the beach and I am ready to hit the slopes again! I am not a huge fan of driving in the dark any ways especially in unfamiliar territory.

Wise words - a few hours from somewhere might leave you in nowhere land - more than a few hrs between places to stay.

Might want to get a set of Lightforce or KC or any type of driving light on a Uni-bar or a Light Wing if you happen to accidentally drive at night.

Rustys Offroad: UNIBAR CHROME DRIVING LIGHT MOUNT

CARR Light Wings (http://www.carr.com/store/carrlightwings.asp - broken link)

LightForce Lights - AED Lights - Spotlights, Driving Lights, Hunting Lights

You can replace your headlight bulbs, too. I run the Sylvania Silverstar halogens in my truck, good visibility.

True, when we went through most everything was open, but that was in August...there are some long stretches of nothing, so keep an eye to the sky and weather to be on the safe side...

Well we are 19 days from leaving for Fairbanks. We have decided to drive from here and cross into Canada via Montana. The movers are coming tomorrow to do our pre-assesment. We are going to get our cables and extra equipment as we get further north since Florida does not have any of the stuff that we need. I a going to get the car serviced before we leave her making sure that we get the llighter synthetic oil and that we have coolant that is rated to -50. We have been watching the weather daily and checking our list for everything that we are going to need for the trip. I just got my new Nikon D3000 the other day so I am prepared to take tons of photos to document our trip. If anyone can think of any last items please let me know.
