I love the idea!!!
Actually, my DH and I have thought for years (and we both spent a few years on Adak) that it would make a KILLER prison.

Heck you could just drop off some supplies once a month and let them fend for them selves.

What's that movie?? No Escape Trailer (1994) - Spout (http://www.spout.com/films/No_Escape/89439/5070/trailers.aspx - broken link)

About the only "Terrorist" that were housed at Adak, were the Navy guys stationed there when it was a Navel Base and when they got drunk and got so see the Brig for a few hours....

I think the Capt had a good deal with the gas though... But have a bunch of gas brought in from a pig farm and let 'em have it...

I honestly think that if we were to store the terrorists in the United States, that somewhere like Adak would be perfect, we also have lots of other islands we could take advantage of as well... such as Sandpoint and such... or any of our countless bush villages... hell put them here in Bethel.

It's not possible to leave politics out of discussions related to terrorists and terrorism. And when you discuss politics there are always arguments. This is America, and arguments and strong feelings for (and against) political parties, their leaders, their lap dogs, their actions and their poliices should always be encouraged. In all formats. At all times.

However, staying on topic, are there any military bases that are out on the chain that has military bases that we DO own that are abandoned? Maybe he heard something right, just wrong spot? :P I would send them up to prudoh I think that would be a nice place for a terrorist prison... maybe a abandoned oil platform.

By all means, report the posts that you don't agree with, coultra. But nothing posted in here violates TOS with the probable exception of your original post.

Back to the topic, somehow I doubt we'll be seeing the prisoners in AK.

I doubt so too, the cost to the taxpayers would outweigh any benefits, unfortunately....
