Yea, but mine really is the smartest, prettiest and most gentle. You may be the exception, Pat, but I've yet to meet a pit bull owner that doesn't have issues and isn't just a bit proud that people are afraid of the dog while they give their "he's so sweet" speech.
You may have well met pit owners who had the dog for that very reason. I don't want people to be afraid of my dogs, unless of course they're trying to break down the door. Dogs are a great deterrant and can warn you but a gun works much better in that case. When I have a dog, I have it for a "pet." Whether it be a dog or anything, I don't get it to impress people, nor do I care what people think about what I choose. I love animals, all breeds, doesn't matter to me what they are.

Many people, especially young males seem to want to flaunt pits wearing those spiked collars, etc., thinking it somehow makes "them" tough while all it does is make them look like morons. And especially that type it seems are the ones who fight the dogs and use them as protection for illegal activities going on in their homes.

As far as being a proud pet owner, I'm proud of all my dogs; they are all very pretty. The little Peke loves the attention she gets in public with everyone saying "oh she is so cute." She eats it up. I've been told many times the mixed pit we have is very pretty and she is an attention hound.

My point is that not all people who own pits have mental issues or are bad people. My dogs are "furbabies" who are spoiled rotten. What I don't like about banning is they started out banning the Pits and then added all kinds of other breeds; they just don't know when to stop. BTW, your dog is a beauty.

BTW, the Golden Retriever is listed on the BAN list for various States, which proves my point. They started with one breed and included many other large dogs.

And my point is is that it's not Golden Retrievers who are routinely making headlines for killing and maiming other people and animals.

The list that you posted is mostly made up of community specific restrictions and is not a "banned list". These restrictions came into place as a result of neighborhood concerns in certain areas. Many of the restrictions are as simple as requiring that dogs be micro chipped which isn't a horrible idea, if nothing else for the identification of the animal should is become dislocated from it's family.
Pat....your blather is a carbon-copy of what all pit bull owners have to say, when the cops come to confiscate their dogs and give them a ticket for " Dangerous Animals At Large "

Its fact that all pit bull owners have mental issues themselves...

Many cities nationwide, that have had these pit bull issues, have made it mandatory that any pit bull out in public must be leased and wearing muzzles

I guess thats because they are so loving and not dangerous, right ?

And Pat...while you're at it, go ahead and explain to us what it might have been about a defenseless little burro that would make a pair of pit bulls attack him...???
Well CC, I really don't have an answer to that. It is not something I would have wanted to witness because as much as I love animals, those are two dogs that I would have shot with no regrets. Any breed of dog in pairs or packs can become vicious. My husband was almost bitten years ago by 3 sheperds running loose.

The two dogs that attacked the poor burro needed to be put down immediately with their worthless owners. As I said, those are the exact people that give responsible pet owners a bad reputation.

You missed the point....they started with "one" breed and added many more. Yes it's a ban list and restrictive breeds.

What bothers me the most is that living within city limits, you have a reasonable right to assume some measure of security/safety. My kids and I have been approached (once almost attacked) by aggressive dogs just walking to get the mail. I will say that most of our neighbors are great dog owners, who keep their pets leashed of the time. It's sad that the few who don't ruin it for all.

And come on...all pit bull owners aren't crazy, but most are too arrogant for their own good.

Trust me...it is not "only" pit owners that have arrogance...read the threads.
