Kyle, I think it's all going to depend on whether you allow your political beliefs to affect your work.

Kyle.

We all have viewpoints prejudices and preferences. Your lack of knowledge should you move here is your greatest asset... that is to say the people here can teach you many things as you can teach them. Your political persuasions are not "who you are" and the good man you sound to be will show to people and THAT is what they are looking for, not your political beliefs. You should come here I think. Something is pulling you here. Don't fear.

"You can learn a lot in this world but if you have not learned how to make friends you have not learned much."

......A Muslim named Muhammad Ali said that.......

As long as you don't try to cram whatever you believe in, down anyone elses throat...you will have absolutely no problem living here.

You'll most likely be fine; people with a strong hatred of social justice usually manage to find their niche anywhere. Good luck.

If you are worried about the politics on this forum and feel attacked, you must have been reading the posts from 'places without trees'. Some people just don't know how to be nice.

Yes, and amazing that they don't even live in Alaska.

Kyle obviously gives several hoots to what we think, and we applaud him for that. It shows that the man is considerate and respectful of the community he wishes to be part of. I look forward to welcoming Kyle in Alaska, and to the prospect of reforming any of the bad red state intolerance that he may carry. Welcome aboard, Kyle!

Kyle has his own beliefs to which he is entitled the same as anyone else. Don't welcome someone to a State if you don't actually live there yourself. Alaska is not a State of just "one belief system" which makes Alaska a great place to live. To each their own...don't cram one's political or religious beliefs down someone's throat...that doesn't fly up here.
