Post holy wah - moving to Kenai in august!

hello all!

I am moving up to Kenai/Soldotna area for a teaching position and have a couple of things I need to clear up in my head!
#1 - I am having an interesting time finding housing - I have a medium size dog and a very old grouchy cat - I have been looking at the peninsula clarion site and also have posted on craigslist...... does anyone have any suggestions on where to go next!
I was thinking about possible winter housesitting or something like it

#2 - My dog is not very bright - she's cute and amusing but I am a wee bit worried about the wildlife - I lived on 31 acres in the UP of Mi and she ran with 3 other dogs all day while I was at work and she never got sprayed or in trouble with the other animals out there including any black bears in the area - but I am wondering if anyone has any tips regarding brown bears/ moose?

cheers and good weather!

A

Hi superior2alaska,

I have all sorts of questions for you :-)

I also am relocating...and teaching. The certification process is so different (they have reciprocity with no other state) that I am trying to get my ducks in a row.

If you have the time, could you PM me please?

Thanks so much,
Deb

Hi Deb

I am a montessori teacher and the certification is different as it is early childhood education - I have a friend who teaches in wasilla though and she went through the U of A anchorage to get her certification
Sorry if that wasn't helpful!
Where are you headed?
cheers
