we had consecutive numbers also...I had them search the system and we ended up with the same last 4 digits on both phone but new area code and state area number. guess I was lucky! they have offered to do the same for me to do the relocation number for Alaska.

[quote=blueflames50;13286309]Verizon won't let you do a change of number?? it is called "relocation phone number" no charge.

Since Verizon is not officially a provider in Alaska and they have to use ACS for their service you can't get an Alaska number on a Verizon phone.

oh that's right someone did tell me that a long time ago...that's is why we went with AT&T as they are a provider in Alaska!

Tracfone....8 years now, its dirt cheap and works everywhere, including all over Alaska that I've been, in part because Verizon is forced by FCC rules to sell Tracfone reduced-rate airtime....so Tracfone is using Verizon's network, 9-cents per minute, no other bs charges and no contracts...no paperwork in the mail to bother looking at..!

Also...Skype works very good for me and the cost 1.5 cents-per-minute world-wide...and with that it allows for multi-tacking....for you internet junkies that should appeal to you...

TracFone | Prepaid Cell Phones | Prepaid Wireless

Isn't Tracfone one of those "use it of loose it" type prepaid services? I was told you have to use the minutes you buy withing a certain time period or they "expire" and you have to buy them all over again?

Seen Juno many times. I automatically, slowly spell out Juneau after saying it for any calls. Then there are the ones who have your address and they always mis-pronounce Juneau as they're confirming it. I usually correct them on it. One of these days, I should correct them by saying, "no, I don't live in J______, I live in the city of Juneau."
