Nah...the kids for real. He just doesn't know anything about Alaska and he's young and looking for something different, I wouldn't worry about him. I meet these people all the time in the summer. I talk to families just moving up and all excited to guys in the service looking for the best place to fish.

I could tell you stories all day about the things people ask me before they move up. It's usually a mixture of fear and excitement. A little fear is good, keeps them out of trouble.

This kid will realize when he looks down and sees his first brownie track that even the Colorado rockies are tame compared to where he is now. The 30-30 will feel a little bit small, as does any gun when facing down a brownie. But really his 30-30 is a lot better than most of the pistols we were talking about awhile back, as long as he has it on him. Hopefully he won't pull the trigger the first time he sees a bear....if he ever really gets here.

And if he is going to auto tech school he will likely be able to get a job...which is good. We don't want to have to support him.

You're a good example of why some animals eat their young.
