Sweet; I'll put that free land in the mail ASAP and as a bonus gift I'll include a complementary bridge to nowhere.

Why do people think there is free land here? You hear it all the time. Yep, that's right folks, there is only 600,000 people in this state even though we have free land, give away money, low taxes and have good paying jobs. Heck, its the fad these days to come up here with nothing but the clothes on your back and an axe. You can get your free land and start chopping down trees to make you log cabin. Once you;re done with that you can hunt and fish to sustain yourself and use the oil from the whales you harpooned for heat during the winter. Find a couple of wolves, train them to be sled dogs and you're all set!

Yeah, and then the guy in back of you says...."Those Canadians get a bunch of free stuff don't they."

The town of Anderson, Ak, had a free-land giveaway a few years ago, but I think that deal has since ended. I suppose it wouldn't hurt if you sent a letter of inquiry to the mayor or town counsel, and see if they might still be willing to accomodate you. (you'll probably need a lot of luck, but hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained!)
