Rental around Albany..not really choosy
We are looking for a rental in the Albany area. School districts aren't important, we homeschool. Would like 4 bdrm, 3 would do though. Really would like it to be less that $1000/month (Am I wishful thinking?)
We have excellant references. My husband is a Electrician and I am a MA. We have 3 children.

I looked on realtor.com, timesunion.com not finding much w/even 3 bdrms for close to $1,000. So I simply tried googling albany ny rental 3 bedroom and found this place in Niskayuna:
Hillcrest Village Apartments - Niskayuna Apartments For Rent | Niskayuna, NY
I'm not sure if this is just too far away. But the price is right. It's in a safe area.

Welcome to the capital region!
As you have discovered, rent is getting higher and higher every year in the Capital region. In all honesty you would probably have better luck looking into areas outside of Albany. Stay away from college areas, as a 3 or 4 bedroom apartment would be at least $1,000, with nothing included, and you will be surrounded by 18-24 year olds partying every night! The safest parts of Albany, as far as I am concerned, are way over-priced. This is one of the biggest factors contributing to my move out of state this Spring. Good luck in your search, with a little time and patience, you should be able to find something in that price range.
