Exclamation Saratoga Changing Zoning to Install Wind Turbines

OMG, this really has become a plague. I was shocked to read this this morning and wanted to post it as I see a lot of folks interested in, and asking questions about, Saratoga. I spent 4 years there, many years ago, and I often say great things about the area.

SO, anyone who is interested in property up there, BE AWARE, Airtricity-a foriegn company, wants to build 25 turbines over 300 ft tall at Lake Desolation.

www.windaction.org | Town to hold off wind farm for now

And this quote, I can't believe the wind-salemen said, but it is TELLING into the imporaance of setbacks and a bit revealing on the known dangers of this very imperfect "tecnology":

"At the Environmental Expo held at the Saratoga Springs City Center this year, wind-power salesmen told people they'd need a piece of land at least large enough so that if the tower fell over, it wouldn't hit anyone else's property. "

IF the tower fell over? Waddaya mean snake-oil guy? I thought these things were perfectly safe and the only safe way to save the planet!?

Things that make you go huuuuuuummmmmm.......

What a beautiful area, such a shame. Buyers beware, an educated consumer is a smart customer.

Another town could soon be divided, and turn into not such a happy, bucolic, peaceful oasis as it once was.
