Question Saratoga Springs/Ballston Spa Rental Properties

I'm definitely moving into the Capital region. Checking out various towns in and around the Albany area.

I was wondering if someone could recommend an apartment complex or place to rent in Ballston Spa-Saratoga Springs. I will definitely be renting for at least the first year. I'd prefer washer/dryer in unit. I am 42, single and male. I'd like to be near some entertainment. Maybe a sports bar where I could have a burger and beer and watch the ballgame. Mets fan I'd like to be within 30 minutes of a health club (not Bally's). Since I'm too old to be a party animal I'd like it to be fairly quiet. I'd like to stay around $1000.00-$1200.00 per month.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm checking out Schenectady-Niskayuna-Scotia. Clifton Park seems to be to suburban/family oriented for me. Been there done that.

I am familiar with Saratoga Springs. I don't know if that price range will get you into one of the newer, upscale buildings (Railroad Place/Franklin Square), but I'd check it out. There's a few nice complexes in SS -- apartments, condos, townhouses, etc. -- both downtown and on the lake. I think you could easily find a nice apartment in a private home or multi-family. It also depends where you want to be, if not right in downtown.

I liked the northwest (west side of Broadway/north Broadway). Quiet, a few college houses but nothing outlandish, short walk to Broadway, etc. I think this area is on the upswing. I also very much liked the northeast -- North Circular St. -- also quiet, short walk to Broadway, close to the highway, Peppers Deli, the racetrack (6 weeks a year), the Parting Glass, etc. SS is a great town. Check it out. Good luck.
