Default Albany, NY--How is Area Around Myrtle Ave

How is the area around Myrtle Avenue and Grand St in Albany? It's near downtown, right? Is it up and coming, sketchy, or just plain bad and run away? Thanks.

on one part of myrtle a lot of college students reside and take poor care of the houses, the other part of it is in the hood so in general stay away from there i would suggest

OK, great--thanks for responding. Appreciate it. I am thinking of buying a house there for investment, but I'll take a more careful approach now.

Post Think it is a fairly long street......

My daughter attends pharmacy school there and her last apartment was on Providence Street which is very close to part of Myrtle. There were nothing but college kids from all the schools around, and the house across the street ended up being a druggie house. She is in a different apartment house this year. I would just be very careful. Well worth a drive around during the weekend and at night, not just during business hours/school time M to F.
Might be fine, though.....just depends on specific area and neighbors.
