Question property taxes/info for Schuylerville?

Can anyone tell me about the area and how much is the average home/property taxes? I was reading an upstate paper and noticed an open house in a new development up there within the Schuylerville school district. Is it extremely rural? I would love some honest feedback. thanks!

Angry Schuylerville Taxes

Taxes are out of control , Water/Sewer taxes, TOO HIGH No Water Meters ,they charge a flat rate .

This is Little Saratoga--- you would be better off there (Saratgoa)

They say the School is great---BUT once again out of control (w/tax payers money )

I sold my house in Gansevoort (Schuylerville SD) in 2006. It was a 3/2 just under 1800 sq,unfinished basement, on 3/4 ac drilled well and septic, no city services, the taxes were around 4000.00 with the STAR exemption. A friend of mine purchased a new home in the same area last year and he tells me that the taxes are about the same. The area can be very rural from farms to heavily wooded properties to nice sub divisions with 1/2 - 1 ac lots. You need to look around, I was just north of Saratoga 5 min from everything. Also look into homes in South Glens Falls SD same area but as much as 30% lower taxes. Hope this helps, feel free to DM with any other questions.

We purchased a house last year in Schuylerville on 3 acres. Taxes are $6K without exemptions. We can't apply for exemptions until we move up there permanently. Great area, friendly and helpful people.
