My 19 yr old son is a very respectful, clean, extremely neat Ualbany student who just landed a full time job for the summer with a Security Preparedness Company in Albany. He is in need of a 1 bedroom apt at an affordable rate for approx. 3 months in a decent, safe part of town. Any suggestions, listings, who to watch out for etc. would be appreciated. I noticed on Craigs list the same pic is used for different listings so I'm a little leary of looking on their for a place. Thanks in advance for all your help!
Sincerely,
Marie
Well I'd sublet if I were him. That way the apartment would be furnished and you really wouldn't have to sign anything long term. Craigslist has ads for sublet apartments, I would start there first.
The area id look in would be the Center Square area of Albany. It's the area between Washington Ave, Swan Street and Willet St. It's the young, hip area in Albany. There are tons of apartments there.
I know last year a mom with a similar question ended up happy with the University Heights College Suites. The web site says the smaller units are all full for 2014-2015, but if you call there may be summer availability.
