Red face Help Me New York State....

Jenny on the move is uprooting! I need help!

My hubby wants to be closer to his brother in Renselaer (I know I spelled that wrong) and not too crazy far from his dad in Fairfield, CT. I don't wanna be TOO far from my Bergen County NJ family.

We were thinking about Hudson, but it seems it is one of those 'up and coming' towns which means a lot of low incomers and 'rehabbing' sporadically, leaving the town in a juxtaposed little whirlwind.... Anyway, I'm looking for somewhere that my husband can work....

We have been looking in South Jersey, in the Haddonfield, Collingswood, Merchantville, etc., because it is on the Speedline to Philly. My Hubby is in the medical field, and needs to be near doctors, hospitals, etc. A major city.

Is there a really great suburb of Albany? Is there somewhere in that general area that would be a nice place to live with a nice downtown area, or a nice shopping area, something with some architecture or culture?

And not just Albany area, anywhere east of Albany, south of Albany, anywhere in NY that is between Albany-ish and NJ/CT borders.

We are looking in the $300k and below price range for a home.

Hopefully you all can help me with this.
