I'm looking for some nice areas to hike and get some excericse in and some views .

I live about 15 minutes north of downtown Albany . So what is near me that is a good hike?

Thatcher is boring because I've been here my whole life , places like pine bush and pebble island I don't classify as hikes more or less walking aimlessly .

The high peaks are a 2 hour drive so what is Round the area under an hour ?

Spruce Mt. and Hadley Mt. are two good fire tower hikes in Saratoga County.

Moreau Lake State park has decent loops and elevation.

Drive a bit further to Lake George and hike Sleeping Beauty and Buck Mt.

Check out Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy. Many of their properties are small, but there are a few real hikes in there that are close to Albany. Bennett Hill is a short hike that gives some good views.

I hiked Sleeping Beauty Mtn this weekend. It is not too difficult and great views from the top. A bit off the highway, but much closer than the high peaks.
