Happy holidays to you! If it turns out you want urban, the Buckingham Pond area of Albany is nice. I have good friends who live there and enjoy it. Good luck with the move!

What about Schenectady's Upper Union Area as well for another city neighborhood option? upperunionstreet.com • Home

Perhaps the best of both worlds could be to live in Niskayuna near the Upper Union neighborhood. That way you could get into a very good school district, while also being able to take advantage of the things that the Upper Union neighborhood has to offer. Census block groups in between the Schenectady/Niskayuna line and Balltown Road are in the $89-130,000 range in terms of median household income. So, that may be an area to look into.

Also, what about other SW Albany neighborhoods like Whitehall, parts of the Delaware Ave. neighborhood, Helderburg, New Scotland and Pine Hills?

That is correct. Property taxes more then make up for it though!
