Hi Kansasfornow, have been looking online at houses in Saratoga. Seems to be several in the 175-200 range. Any idea what the taxes are on a 200k house? Would love to relocate there. Thanks.

You should also look into the outlying towns of Saratoga (Northunderland, Moreau, Wilton, Schuylerville, Gansevoort).
You might get some information here. You don't need a login to search.

My taxes are about $3000/year for a $225,000 house. I know that the towns right around Saratoga Springs have taxes that are much lower. Although my taxes seem high compared to other places (e.g. Long Island) they are great! I also will be using the local public schools so I am fine with paying the tax. You might want to check out the towns close by (e.g. Ballston Spa, Greenfield) as the taxes are lower and they are only minutes away from SS. It really is beautiful here and the people are great, good luck and let me know if I can provide any additional information!

Thanks kansasfornow. 3,000 is actualy less than I thought they would be. Rockland County average is probably about 10,000. Good luck.
