Yeah, I was surprised to see the going rates. Hell they are more than here in Auburn, Maine.
- I'm from Amsterdam, NY - visit there a few times a year (headed that way this October for sure, staying at the Castle) and just like to see what's happening, but yes, I now live in Auburn, Maine
The whole area is looking real good, ok so Downtown area is looking up. The 3 parks in the area, really do a great job of making the area look, possibly - a bit better than it is, albeit the area is looking up each time I go back.
It is, I've stayed here twice so far, and wouldn't hesitate to stay again, or recommend this place for a stay. The first was with my brother and the 2nd time, (a few weeks back) was with my wife and some friends, and everyone enjoyed the place and stay.
Only wish the last time, was that the bar and restaurant would have been open.
A high end development in Amsterdam would be as useful as a garden hose in a forest fire.
Actually any type of housing development for that matter. It’s just not necessary or beneficial to that area. There is plenty of stock in place already.
They should just keep on track with the revitalization efforts, fix what’s already broken first and then see what happens.
These developers are in business to make money, end of story.
They use Jedi Mind Tricks and such to convince people these developments are “needed”.
Most are somehow connected with politicians, each enabling the other to line their pockets.
These clowns build these developments, get paid, and they’re on to the next.
