Nope but have lived in the Capital Region for nearly 20 years. Actually have a friend who just bought a house in East Greenbush because of the school system and the proximity to Albany/Troy for employment.

Troy City SD also covers some areas just outside of the city to the east.

Lansingburgh in most of the northern portion of the city excluding the inner North (Central) neighborhood and covers some towns just outside of that part of the city, has a grad rate that is a little under the state and national figure: https://data.nysed.gov/profile.php?instid=800000039582

So, some families that could go with other options also go with the public systems in the city.

Another thing to consider, that I just thought about is that you have a district such as Wynantskill that goes up to 8th grade just outside of the city to the SE: https://data.nysed.gov/profile.php?instid=800000039573
Wynantskill Union Free School District
Wynantskill Union Free School District - USA.com™

A district like this usually allows for its students multiple options for high school. High School Choice – Wynantskill Union Free School District

So, this is a small SD that allows for its students after 8th grade to attend the high school of 4 adjacent school districts or to attend a charter HS option in Tech Valley HS.

A similar district in the area just south of Troy: https://data.nysed.gov/profile.php?instid=800000039579
North Greenbush Common School District***** ****************** Little Red School House ~ Since 1861 - Home
North Greenbush Common School District - USA.com™

As you can see on its site, its school choices after 1st grade(yes, it only goes from K-1st grade) are a little bit different.

So, these are some other things to potentially consider that are a little bit unconventional.
Another similar school district to consider would be Menands, which is across the Hudson River from Troy to the SW. It is a very culturally diverse K-8th grade school district that is very good and offers multiple options for high school attendance as well. https://data.nysed.gov/profile.php?instid=800000055344

So, that would still put you very close to Troy(and Albany), while being in a very diverse and high quality school system, with multiple good options for high school. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Me...!4d-73.7245639

This district is just east of the city and also not too far from RPI: https://data.nysed.gov/profile.php?instid=800000039638
Brunswick | Brittonkill CSD Central School District (Tamarac is the HS’s name)

Thank you so much. I would love to ask one more question if you don't mind. I was told that Niskayuma SD is stronger in academic (which I really care) compared to other SDs. What do you think?

Thanks a lot.

Historically, Niskayuna is a top 2-3 SD in the area. Bethlehem is also right there. As mentioned in another thread, both are right next to a couple of the city centers(Niskayuna is next to Schenectady and Bethlehem is next to Albany).

This is where I think Menands comes into play with your situation. It is just across the River from Troy, while also being a highly regarded school (district). It also allows for your child(ren) to attend a very good HS in Shaker High in the very good North Colonie SD(top 5-10 and another SD to consider) or a charter HS in Tech Valley HS, among others. So, that is why I mentioned it, as it is more in line with what you are looking for.

Just to add OP, Bethlehem would be closer to Troy/RPI than Niskayuna.
